Pinterest Has Sections!!???

I love to organize anything that wastes my time and has no real value.

Examples:
Should I organize my kitchen, living room, desk, etc. : NO
Should I organize my closet by color and sleeve length: YES
O

With this type of theory to motivate me, I became obsessed with Pinterest now allowing us to have sections. I spent a great deal of my Christmas vacation organizing my Fall Clothing board... and then moved onto my recipe board... but thats another story. I had a Pinterest Folder filled with fall fashion ideas; however, since there were so many items in the folder- I could never find what I was looking for. But now? Its magical!

I determined that I typically build my outfits around the slacks I wear to work. I will grab a pair of slacks or a skirt and then decide what to pair with it. If I need Pinterest inspiration, I would then search through thousands of photos to try and find good looks to imitate- but I often would leave frustrated in the mess of photos. This revelation brought me to the idea of organize my pins by slacks. I don't have cute names for my folders. They literally say "Jeans", "Black pants or black skirt", "olive pant", etc. There is nothing fancy about the system. But what is amazing!!!??? I have only been pinning clothes that I actually have replicas for... so now I can find looks quickly and efficiently!

I started DAY 1 today and am beyond THRILLED with how I felt and looked today in my outfit (future post), but I highly credit TAILOR and my new Pinterest System to my updated look. Hoping to make this a "thing" in 2019!

2019 Fashion: SHEIN & Tailor

Okay. So there is this online store called SHEIN and I am pretty obsessed. I'm pretty sure the clothes come from China and so it is really important to read the reviews below each item to see how they fit. Often clothes are too small, shirts not long enough, and skirts too short for a person of my height. I have only ordered one item. Imagine that, its another coat! I've been obsessed with the felt coat look for a few years now. I see people wearing them, but haven't been able to find them anywhere and so I tried SHEIN out and purchased one. Its pretty cute and I'm planning on wearing it Tuesday.

An even BETTER find, so far, has been an app called Tailor. Sign up by clicking HERE and you earn $5.00 of credit free if you put in the referral code: 004NCU

Here is why I like it.
1st... Its meeting my needs much better than everything I've tried before. I've been long on the hunt - years now- to simplify and update my wardrobe. I've tried Thred Up, Stitch Fix, and recently a few other apps I downloaded - all in the hopes to help me better understand my "look" and know how to put outfits together. I've only been using this recently, but I think I found my "go to" winner!

Basically, I downloaded the app, took pictures of several items in my closet, and then asked the consultant to put together an outfit using a shirt I have NEVER word before (because I did not know what to pair it with). Within minutes, the stylist sent me 5 outfit ideas for that shirt using THE CLOTHES I ALREADY HAVE IN MY CLOSET. She did recommend articles of clothing that I could buy, but I am not obligated to. The best part? The app is free!

So now, I am excited to update my outfits by learning how to better mix and match the clothing I already have. (Lets be real - we know I'm still going to be shopping, though.)

In the app, there is a chat room where you and the consultant can talk back and forth. She first determined that I was more interested in finding outfits for work since that is how I wear the majority of my clothes. She then had me rate several outfits. After my ratings and our conversations she classified my style as "classic, chic work looks that seamlessly transition to after work/ evening outfits". She threw in a little of street style for me (which I'm also drawn to) without going overboard.
So far, its been a huge win. Check it out if you are interested!

Welcome to 2019 & Coat Fetish Confessional

Yep! You guessed it! I'm back with another New Year Resolution that will probably last a few weeks like in 2015.... Nothing like a 4 year intercession!

Its funny reading through my old posts. I still relate with so much of what I said then and I definitely have the same problems.

Here is the last 4 years in a nutshell:

I really did enjoy STITCHFIX, but quit the subscription after just a few months. It was too expensive for this bargain shopper. FYI. 4 years later I am still frustrated I didn't buy the cocoon cardigan.

I became addicted to THREDUP. Thread Up gave me the motivation I needed to part with my ill-fitting clothes. By sending in bags of clothes, I would get store credit. With that store credit I would buy more clothes.... which would make me want to send another bag in for store credit... Its kind of a "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" kind of ugly cycle.... but, the goal or PURGING my closet became a real thing. Consider me cleansed.... until....

So whats a girl to do with all that room in her closet!? Fill it back up, of course!
I was able to step away from THREDUP when I had no more clothes I could sacrifice. Plus, over the last few years the payout is currently only giving me back about 33% of what it used to. The last bag I sent in had beautiful, designer clothes... and I literally got $17.00 of credit for it. So, I checked out and am back to donating to Goodwill. Its just simpler and I don't get my heart broken.

Speaking of Goodwill and this addictive personality.... yep, you guessed it. I'm out of control again. I shop once a week and find the most beautiful things. Seriously. Clothes with price tags still on it. Last week I went and there was a freaking SLEW (is that a word?) of BEBE designer suits. 3 PIECE SUITS!!! They were gorgeous. Price tags still on them. I was beyond excited.... until I realized that BEBE's sizes are different than all the other brands. I don't know in what world their size 6 fits a person, but it wasn't close to fitting me-which I found extremely disappointing. So some lucky girl has a brand new beautiful wardrobe and I will do my best to be happy for her.

What I have scored this winter season at Goodwill are beautiful coats.... for $5.00 each. Its really addicting. I have way too many... but I cannot say no to $5.00. My favorite score? A brand new grey wool Rachel Roy jacket. It has a modern look and I cannot imagine how rich the person must be who threw out this perfectly beautiful jacket.... but that's why I go there. Other examples? An American Eagle Bomber Jacket, H&M trench coat, Tommy Hilfiger wool plaid pea coat, Old Navy fur lined suede long jacket, a BEAUTIFUL and very modern looking ivory wool coat, and embarrassingly... many more. My coat closet is FULL! (And this does not include the four I bought during Black Thursday from SHEIN and Nordstrom Rack, lol.)

Since I'm almost positive I am just speaking to myself on this blog - I'm not worried about uploading pics unless you (whoever you may be!! lol) ask for them. But I'm very proud of my new coats!!!
